“Christians, get out and vote, just THIS time. You won’t have to do it anymore, you know what? Four more years, it’ll be fixed. It’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore my beautiful Christians. I love you Christians. I’m [unintelligible] Christian. I love you. You gotta get out and vote. In four years you won’t have to vote again, we’ll have it fixed so good you’re not gonna have to vote.”
Kamala Harris called that statement a promise to end democracy. On social media, there were some calls of alarm in response to Trump’s comments, expressing concern that they alluded to authoritarianism and could be interpreted as an indication that he will not leave office if he wins the election. He would become a dictator, or another Putin. Donald Trump admires people like Putin and Kim Jung Un.
He admires people with power, and he belittles people he considers weak, like John McCain, who Trump called “weak” because he was captured in a war and spent time in their prison. He believes them more than what his own military tells him.
Furthermore, he also said the following as he rejected the idea of a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in Paris, in 2018.

In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.”
